I evaluated the research paper of Malik, Younas, Sattar, & Nawaz by
following the provided recommendations of Jordan and Zanna (Jordan &
Zanna, 2013). The present report focuses on the struggles and
experiences of the researcher while critically evaluating the research
article.+
While searching for a good article to evaluate critically, I have found many
difficulties in identifying a relevant article. Usually, I skimmed through
reading the abstract of the research paper and had no clear idea about
the authors what they wanted to say through the article. After going
through the selected article, I have found it interested to get a deeper
insight into the research paper. However, finding a good research article
was a difficult task; it was more difficult to go through the literature
review part as the authors have taken the support of many authors and
their existing works (Jordan & Zanna, 2013). While evaluating the research
paper, I found it difficult to manage to read the article within a limited
period of time. As I had already wasted my time searching for a good
article, I did not get enough time to understand and interpret the research
work in an effective manner. Additionally, I found a problem in
understanding the used language in the research paper. It could be easier
for me to understand if the authors had used it in a simpler manner. As I
do not belong to a statistical background, it was really difficult for me to
understand the statistical data.
Here, I felt that the authors Malik, Younas, Sattar, & Nawaz had done
great work in presenting the research work step by step and presenting
their results or findings. I found that the authors have presented some
graphs and tables to provide a better understanding to the recorders. I
really liked their presentation in an effective manner. In the selected
research paper, some people have responded no, so the authors have
eliminated nearly 100 questionnaires. But I believe they could have
included these data as the respondents might have a true feeling that
they are not facing any kind of discrimination at the workplace.
Jordan & Zanna have recommended the researcher focus on the
introduction, hypothesis, results, methods, and findings to understand the
intent of the articles in relation to social psychology. This research paper
has helped a lot to review the research paper in an effective manner.
