I have read the research you have shared in understanding the role of workplace
friendships and the advantages it brings in the form of productivity and overall job
satisfaction.
I ask that you might think this over, but I believe that together we could further
extend this research to the western culture. It would be of benefit to organizations
who wish to gain insight into the benefits of friendship in the workplace. I would
like to offer the same study to take place in various countries across the western
culture, beginning in the United States of America. We would continue the study
of workplace friendships that include the level of the quality of friendship based
on the Likert Scale from 1- strongly agree to 5- strongly disagree and their
correlation to productivity levels.
Zhang (2021) researched that in the eastern culture, particularly China. It has
shown that employees have more of a desire to form bonds with their fellow
colleagues for the betterment of their company. In the same study, Zhang (2021)
found that the more independent the task, the higher quality of the friendship.
I hope that you might consider working together on a future study as proposed
above. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me via
email. The study of how friendships impact our productivity in the workplace is
quite interesting. It feels as if it would be beneficial to have friends in the
workplace to obtain that feeling of belonging. When a person is happy or feels
connected, ideas can start to flourish. Having someone at work to share these
ideas make sense. I enjoyed reading this research because it is imperative to find
ways also to keep our employees happy. Therefore, friendships should be
something that arms promote in the workplace. Companies should aim to have
events that help unite coworkers to have let's turn over. It was great to learn what
transformational leadership is and how it could affect the workplace. Stated in the
article, “transformational leadership and the desire to gain face strengthen the
relationship between psychological safety and the employees” (Cao,2020).
However, the article also states how these friendships can have a negative turn if
they fail. Supported something fundamental for human beings it's something that
we all need and having it at work is essential (Cao, 2020). I enjoyed gaining
knowledge on the information of how friendships are so helpful. I also hope to
see more research on how friendship helps the workplace and other criteria.
Lastly, Psalm 119:63 states “I am a friend of all who fear you *and of those who
keep your orders" (English Standard Version, 2001).”
