Evolutionary Psychology
"In the beginning, God created the heavens and earth" (Genesis 1:1). I am a Christian. I
believe that God created all living and non-living. God created us in his image to be above all
animals and other living/ non-living things. As a Christian, I live according to God's authority.
Before I found Christ, I was lost. I knew I believed in God, but I did not know what the Bible
was about. I did not know the gospel; I did not know my purpose, nor did I know where right
and wrong came from. I was saved in 2015. That is when I entirely gave my life to Christ. I
realized I always have believed in the trinity and mostly followed by the gospel. Nevertheless, I
was not understanding and not living to my full potential. Now all my actions and motives in life
are to bring all glory to God.
God created all things in six days. The bible is proven and is based on facts. Whereas
many other things do not have a reason, which means all reason leads to God, an ultimate being.
God created Adam from dust and dirt and Eve from Adam's rib. He made them to cater to God's
creation and gave them one rule, to not eat the forbidden fruit. They were manipulated by a snake
and did so anyway, which brought sin into the world. Therefore, we are all born sinners. God has
given us instructions on how we are supposed to be and how we are supposed to live life. That is
what we call the gospel. All scripture by God can dictate what is morally right and wrong (2
Timothy 3:16). As stated above, we are made in the image of Christ. Which means we carry
characteristics that God uniquely created within us. Our purpose in life is to give all glory to
God. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only son, whoever believes in him should not
perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). We are to have a relationship with God through his son
Jesus Christ. Jesus died for our sins, so we do not have to face God's wrath. No one is perfect,
but we can all be reformed if we repent, and our heart is with right with God. God forgives.

While I am not very familiar with Evolutionary Psychology, this is my understanding of
it. “Evolutionary psychology is the idea that humans' social instincts have evolved by natural
selection” (George. 2020). Evolution is the adaptive progression of species from their origins. It
is believed that humans came from apes, not Gods own hands. The origins of Evolutionary
Psychology and Christianity can be argumentatively similar, but from my perspective, they are
not. Therefore, I do not believe that evolutionary psychology and Christianity are very
compatible. However, I do believe that religion and science do come together at some point.
Another example of why my worldview and evolutionary psychology do not compare is the
question of morality. Evolutionists fall into the category of moral relativism. Moral relativism
believes what right today can be wrong tomorrow; it is believed that truth is based on the person
or society and can change at any given moment. “Belief in evolution played a fundamental role
in changing the debate about what is right and what is wrong from one of searching for truth to
one in which everyone simply defines their own truth” (George. 2020). They are also not
concerned about death; they believe that death is the end, and our bodies decompose.
The strengths of Evolutionary Psychology are within six days, the world and all living
and non-living came about. It believes inheritance plays a big part in our lives, which in some
cases, I do agree. You can inherit genes and traits from your family. Another strength is a useful
understanding of the psychology circumstances. Some weaknesses of evolutionary psychology
are "the best work remains incomplete." it is based on a "model of ancestral human reproductive
ecology which is out of date" (E. H. Hagen 2002). Most of the research of Evolutionary
Psychology state that because I did this is because it is in my genes. “The origin of species is
exactly what Darwin cannot explain” (Gelernter, 2019, p. 104), he emphasized. He further noted
that the math just doesn’t work out.” (George. 2020). Evolutionary Psychology also argues that

people do things because it is their nature, which is wrong. That is where morality comes into the
equation. Therefore, I cannot accept the idea of my worldview being compatible with
Evolutionary Psychology.
