Of course, divorce has emotional in one’s life. Looking at the “interiors” I do acknowledge that
the decision that the father makes is a clear indicator that he has to live with the new changes
without questioning them. Just the same, the father’s decision comes as a surprise to his family
that at this point doesn’t know on how to react properly. Not only are the daughters shocked with
what their father has proposed but also the wife. The wife’s shock turns into anger as she literally
can’t withstand the trauma of losing authority figure in the family.
Moreover, looking at the wide perspective it is much close that the husband could be having
psychiatric illness. I mean, his decisions might have been influenced by depression and being
unhappy. However, these are just speculations and the fact is that those divorced experience high
levels of mental distress and worse mental health. Everyone in the family seems not to
understand what is truly happening in this situation. Equally, the wife displays appropriate
reaction to the news that was brought to her attention.
The grief that the wife feels makes her not to utter anything about it at the moment. And yes,
marriage creates a bond but this becomes broken when the thought of divorce chips in. in this
situation the wife feels like the relationship and the bond she had with her husband is fading
away. This makes her to go from being angry to sad, and finally lacking something to say.
