Jordan Howze
Good afternoon Jordan,
Thank you for your posting regarding the case study on heavy petting. You made some great points
about falling victim to our flesh and sexual desires as singles. Your reference scripture Romans 13:14 was very
fitting and gave me different perspective in my viewpoints. You made great points on keeping our hearts away
from sexual desires and being disobedient to God’s word. I agree that God does call for his children to remain
pure until marriage however I didn’t find any moral issues with the decision that Jeff and Cynthia made to
satisfy their sexual desire through genital sexual expression. I’m aware that in order to masturbate it may
require the mind to go to a lustful place and that is where the sin comes in. The act of masturbation is not
spoken against in the word of God and just because 2 people that are in love with each and have a love for God
choose to please each other’s sexual desires without having sex doesn’t mean it’s coming from a place of lust.
It’s true that opening the door of heavy petting can lead to the act of sex which I believe should be saved for
marriage however, in our text Professor Karen Lebacqz expresses her stance on appropriate vulnerability which
would allow for genital sexual expression between unmarried people, even those who are not planning on
marriage.1 She sees vulnerability as an important God-given purpose for human sexuality and as the
precondition for both sexual union and procreation of children. I think masturbation is a healthy way for a
person to become familiar with themselves sexually before letting someone else into their sexual space.
According to the text masturbation can be viewed as a gift from God because it can help unmarried believers
avoid promiscuous sex.1 In the end I also believe that is Jeff and Cynthia cannot control their sexual desire then
1 Corinthians 7:9 gives the following instructions – But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry,
for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.2

Kaylea Hoffman
Good afternoon Kaylea,
Thank you for your post on the cast study regarding pornography. I agree with you that no one should be in a
position to have to succumb to someone else desires that in the end makes them uncomfortable. Your suggestion
of Hannah helping her husband remember how they were brought together was also a stance in which we shared
the same viewpoint. Being married for 14 years is a long time to be married and it’s important to make sure a
couple is staying in tuned with each other to ensure each other’s desires are met. I believe when a spouse finds
themselves bored sexually it could be because they have falling out of love with God which could lead them to
lose their direction within their marriage. God created sex and desires for his children that enter marriage to
enjoy each other sexually without any limitation that doesn’t involve the invitation of a third wheel such as
pornography. I believe Charles and Hannah need to re-discover their intimacy with each and maybe consider
seeing a sex therapist with Christian values that can give them ways to spice up their sex life where both of
them are sexually pleased. Proverbs 5:18-19 says, “May your fountain be blessed and may you rejoice in the
wife of your youth. A loving doe, a graceful deer, may her breasts satisfy you always may you ever be
intoxicated with her love.”1

Tykia Brown
Good afternoon Tykia,
Thank you for your post on birth control I enjoyed reading your perspective on this topic. You made some very valid
points on why birth control has a positive purpose in the world we live in today. Your stance in outlining some of the
situation of people not wanting to get pregnant due to certain situations such as rape was a good point to highlight. I
went back and forth with this because there was a part of me that I felt we should not try to control birth since life in the
womb is a gift from God however, I also understand that birth control is used for many reasons. I do feel those that
choose to use birth control should not be chastise for it because like you Tykia I feel it should be the choice and not
forced upon someone. I know married couple could choose to use birth control simply because they are not ready to
start a family however I believe that regardless if someone uses birth control or not if God has called for life to enter the
womb of a woman no birth control can stop it because God hold’s all power in his hands.

Good afternoon Embelle,
Thank you for the post I enjoyed reading your stance on the cast study of the Lesbian School Teacher. I agree with you
that Sarah’s sexual preference when it comes to relationships is no business of the principles. What you said is very true
things that are out of our control is an indication it should be left in God’s hands. I felt because her choice of lifestyle did
not interfere with her job, and she wasn’t trying to influence the student with her stance on a lesbian relationship then
there should be no mention of it. I don’t even feel the principle should mention to Sarah that she knows her sexual
orientation. Your perspective was greatly appreciated on the Christian thing to do which is pray for Sarah that God
touches her heart to one day make her receptive to seeing God’s perspective on her way of living. But until God sees fit
to convict Sarah of her sinful lifestyle Brenda needs to practice living out the scripture 1 Thessalonians 4:11 – “Make it
your ambition to lead a quiet life and mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you,
so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.” I
love this scripture and find it so fitting for this situation because if the bible makes it clear for us to "mind our own
business" then as children of God that's what we should strive to do until God gives us direction and permission to do
otherwise.

Felicia Uyadi
Good afternoon Felicia,
Thank you for your post on the case study involving cloning, I really enjoyed reading your perspective. You made
some valid points from the reading of the concerns behind cloning that since it not something that is tracked closely
regarding the embryos it can get to the point that the financial gain of this scientific methods would eventually get out of
control and create more avenues of immoral and unethical methods. I definitely was not in agreeance with parents being
able to control the traits of their offspring. Your perspective of the human race not being able to appreciate the
uniqueness of what God creates when we choose to take those matters into our own hand with selecting character traits
was well said. Genetic engineering on the other hand has provided so many benefits for so many people included those
suffering from chronic conditions, so I definitely see the benefit of it however, I believe people with the knowledge of
genetic engineering have to be careful and not try and step into the place of God who gives each child their uniqueness
that sets them apart from others. I also agree with you on not being pro for cloning.
Brittaney Myrda
Good afternoon Brittaney,
Thank you for your post on the case study of the Gay Marriage Proposal. I enjoyed reading your post and it allowed me
to view this case from a different perspective than what I originally considered. Your stance suggested for Stan to remain
in his current way of living which I could understand that since he has chosen to live a life of celibacy because he knows
his way of living is not pleasing to God.1 Initially reading your post I felt Stan should reject his feelings for Norman
however, as I continue to give it some thought I feel you can’t be delivered from something until you acknowledge your
true feelings in order to understand where the feelings stem from. Even though Stan grew up in a Christina household
somewhere along the way I believe Stan lost sight of God which created a void in his life. The only way for a spirit like
homosexuality to take root is if there is a void for the enemy to enter in. I feel that is what happened with Stan, the
enemy was able to enter his life at a young age and plant seeds that grew over time.1 Stan’s morals, ethics, and beliefs
has somewhat kept him for going full throttle into a homosexual lifestyle however, so a man thinketh in his heart so is he
(Proverbs 23:7). Even though he may have only acted upon his feelings when he was a kid the fact that he allows his
mind to think of himself as a homosexual is no different than living out the lifestyle. I definitely feel that Stan should
consider re-committed his life to Christ and asking God to search his heart for anything that is not pleasing to God and
remove it. I agree with your suggestion of him joining a Christian support group where we can be influence by the word
of God and not by the what man says is right.

Nicole Stepanski
Good afternoon Nicole,
Thank you for you post regarding the HPV vaccine. I really enjoyed reading your perspective on whether of not this is a
vaccine that we should get. I agree with you that the HPV vaccine should not be mandated it should be the choice of the
parents if they decide they want to get their child vaccinated. I do see the benefit of getting the HPV vaccination for the
prevention of cervical cancer however, the known reason behind HPV is targeted toward the younger generation due to
the promiscuous behavior that is on the rise of millennials. I don’t feel there is enough open conversation between
parents and their children about sex and the responsibility that comes with being sexually active. I feel the younger
generations are not being taught on the value of waiting until marriage and how much more enjoyable it is to have sex
and be intimate with the one that God had intended for you to spend the rest of your life with. The world today is
running on the views of social media which means the worlds’ views are spearheading how our society today approaches
majority of the situations we are face with. You pointed out that children could have a lapse in judgement or being taken
advantage of which are great points to highlight regarding the possible benefit of being vaccinated. Your perspective was
well received.
