Analysis Variance with Repeated Measures-Case Studyof
1
Instructions: To successfully complete this case study, all of the following instructions must be
adhered to. Only paste tables/figures that contain pertinent information. Only paste tables/
figures where you are instructed to do so. HIGHLIGHT (in yellow) only relevant the data from
tables; as well as your response to each question. In the write-up section, all information must be
provided paragraph format. When statistical values are discussed, the numerical value must in be
given and a reference must be made to the table(s)/figure(s) where the value(s) can be found. An
example of this is “heart rate was statistically greater during running versus cycling (189 vs. 143
bpm) as indicated in Table 1.
I. Analysis of Variance with Repeated Measures
Research question: “is there a statistically significant difference in the core body
temperature at minutes: 15, and 30 while exercising a hot 0, in environment?”
Assumptions Testing
1. Data level of measurement- what the level is of measurement for the data used this in
case study? The data level of measurement for this case study interval and ratio. is
2. Would the amount of skewness and kurtosis in these affect the analysis? How do you
know? Give numerical values to support your conclusion. The core temperature at 0
minutes showed skewness at .682 which a standard error of .687 making the value of
skewness .992. The kurtosis for core temperature minutes was -1.171 with a standard at
error of 1.334 making the value of kurtosis -.877. Core temperature at 15 minutes
showed a skewness of -.060 with a standard error or .687 making the value of skewness
-.087. The kurtosis statistic at 15 minutes was -.700 with a standard error or 1.334
making the kurtosis value -.524. Core temperature at 30 minutes showed a skewness
statistic of .244 with a standard error of .687 making the value of skewness at 30
minutes .355. The kurtosis statistic for 30 minutes was -.556 with a standard error of
1.334 making the kurtosis value -.416. The skewness and kurtosis for core temperature at
0, 15, and 30 minutes that the values fell within the parameters of +1.96 meaning that
there is not enough skewness or kurtosis to affect the analysis.
