MGMT 501 Rules and Responsibilities
What: A checklist for organizing team assignment in Management 501, and a Roles and Responsibility
table will be used for documenting all the members of their roles and responsibilities
Why: Each group must work together and write a list of rules which sets the guidelines for the group
members and group work. The instructor must be able to understand the group dynamics and
responsibilities of each of the group members from this set of instructions. The charter must provide
specific guidelines and expectations.
Project Team Organization Rules/ Procedures:
1.
Make sure everyone is able to be vocal about their ideas and problems
2.
Be flexible about meeting times/ Commit to being available
3.
Everyone’s opinion will count toward the final product
4.
All team members will do an equal amount of work.
5.
Each week by Monday the group should communicate through email or another form of
communication to plan out assignments and task.

According to California State Univrsity (2013) it states,
“14% of students felt group work was negative because of: Communication Problems
39% of students felt group work was negative because of: Timing, Scheduling Issues
47% of students felt group work was negative because of: Personality Clash, Conflicting Ideas,
Disagreements
73% of students felt group work was negative because of: Lack of Participation, Slackers, Flakes,
Unequal Work”
The above statistics gives even more prevalence on why is important for groups to set rules for the
group. Going into a team with no standard, can lead to a disaster. These group assignments will take all
of our team members effort to make accurate and quality discussions and responses.
