Bible Verse (Biblical Perspective)
It is important to research and value the policies and frameworks that direct product
development and distribution. One Bible verse that might provide clarity and wisdom for
businesses seeking to succeed both spiritually and functionally is 2 Corinthians 9:10. Even when
outdated techniques have been modernized, wisdom can be found by going all the way back to
Biblical times. According to 2 Corinthians 9:10, "Now he who gives seed to the sower and bread
for feeding will also give and increase your stock of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your
righteousness." Paul is urging the Corinthian Christians to contribute freely in this verse and
assures them that they will receive something in return. This is only one of many verses that
underscore how crucial it is for God's children to effectively and carefully manage everything he
has given them.
Importance of Supply Chain Management
The process through which a good is created for a consumer is overseen by supply chain
management, which is vitally important to a business (Kintzinger, 2016). Supply chain
management organizes every stage a product goes through before it is in the hands of a customer,
in addition to supervising the product's design and production. The ultimate objective of this
procedure is to offer a high-quality product in a timely, cost-effective manner. Without a
comprehensive system to coordinate all of the moving parts and elements involved in the
production and distribution of a product, a corporation faces the possibility of failure. Just-in-
time, outsourcing, strategic alliances, strategic warehousing, and other supply chain management
elements all play a crucial part in simplifying a company's product creation and distribution

processes. "In a world with more complicated and interconnected supply chains, events
occurring in one place will have an influence on supply chains and related enterprises in
another," Stowe Kintzinger argues in the essay The Two Most Important Words in Supply Chain
Management (Kintzinger, 2016). In its simplest form, a supply chain is exactly that a chain. If
one of the links in a chain is broken or fails to serve its original purpose, the chain is worthless. A
supply chain component that isn't functioning properly has the ability to affect the entire
operation. Any company participating in the supply chain will be impacted by this derailment. A
supply chain, on the other hand, has limitless potential to propel a company's success provided it
is operating efficiently (Howells, 2016). It will reduce expenses through outsourcing, shorten
delivery times through smart warehousing, and open up new business prospects through strategic
alliances. There are still more benefits of a successful supply chain to be listed.
Biblical Relevance in Supply Chain Management
In every managerial role, the person in that position is given some level of responsibility.
Many industries provide managers with staff, funding, and other resources that are specifically
connected to that sector. They are accountable for using the resources provided and their training
to complete the task at hand as effectively as possible. Supply chain management is similar to
being a Christian, according to the Bible, and neither is the other. A managerial lesson can be
learned from 2 Corinthians 9:10. A manager needs to make the most of the resources available to
him and figure out how to improve the performance of the system they are in charge of. The
Christians are not being instructed by Paul to make do with what God has given them. To be able
to offer abundantly, He is advising them to take and multiply. In a similar vein, supply chain
managers must always look for innovative ways to run their operations as effectively as possible.
As stated by Richard Howells in his book Supply Chain Futurists Predict the Impact of Digital

Transformation, "As a firm, we must differentiate ourselves to our consumers in the market in
everything we do" (Howells, 2016). Businesses will succeed greatly and customers will take
notice if they apply these biblical ideas to supply chain management.
