Strengths Quest Inventory
After completing the Strengths Quest Inventory assessment I was amazed at the results.
My five personal themed insights are responsibility, belief, connectedness, relator and context.
All of which seem to describe me fairly well from my personality, to my values and my beliefs. I
will briefly elaborate on each personal theme and what it says about me at this point in my life. I
am eager to see how these personal themed insights can continue to help me grow.
My first personal theme insight is responsibility. The results of the Gallup assessment
indicate that individuals whom are especially talented with responsibility take mental ownership
of what they say they’ll do. They are committed to being honest and loyal to others. (Gallup
2012) I find this to be accurate as I hold myself to such standards. I sincerely believe that it is
very important for others to know that I am reliable, dependable and a trustworthy individual.
Therefore, I am at any given time worthy of any and all of my responsibilities.
My second theme insight is belief. The results of the Gallup assessment indicate that
individuals whom are especially talented with belief have certain core values of which are
unchanging. Such core values derive from a meaningful purpose in one’s life. (Gallop 2012) I
find this to be accurate as my beliefs are very important to me. I believe that no matter what I
may be going through in life, if someone needs something, whether my time or skills, I do what I
can to make sure I help them. Everything I do, I do to please my Savior, in order to do that I put
others before myself. I am always volunteering and giving of my time, which is a very important
core value and belief.
My third theme insight is connectedness. The results of the Gallup assessment indicate
that individuals whom are especially talented with connectedness have faith in associations
between all things. People with such talent believe there are few coincidences and every event
has a purpose. (Gallup 2012) I find this to be accurate as I do not truly believe in coincidences. I
believe that I am placed in the lives of others to make a difference and vice versa. No matter
what barriers are at hand, I am sure to connect with others, no matter their cultural background,
experiences, religion, economic status etc. I am sensitive towards others feelings, thoughts and
ideas which are extremely important to me.
My fourth insight is relator. The results of the Gallup assessment indicate that individuals
whom are especially talented as a relator tend to enjoy close relationships with others.
Individuals with this talent find profound contentment in working hard with friends to
accomplish goals. (Gallup 2012) I find this to be accurate as I generally do feel comfortable
offering advice and/or suggestions to others. Although I don’t typically associate with many
individuals, especially strangers, I always find myself offering advice/suggestions to close
friends and family. I love sharing any knowledge I have attained, whether educational or from
life lessons. Not sure if I am well equipped to train, instruct or even coach, as I am shy at times,
but I can see myself being a great mentor and I am definitely a great friend.
My fifth insight is context. The results of the Gallup assessment indicate that individuals
whom are especially talented in the context theme enjoy thinking of the past. These individuals
understand the present by investigating its past. (Gallup 2012) I find this to be accurate as I
generally find myself researching history, as I see something in the present which may reflect the
past. I definitely find myself doing this a lot, especially when it comes to scriptural prophecies. I
enjoy spending time listening and discussing things with individuals who have much wisdom. I
find it fascinating to hear and learn about historical and/or biblical events in which I am
unfamiliar with.
In conclusion, I believe the Strengths Quest Inventory assessment has provided me with
great knowledge about my personal insight talents. I now can look back to these results and feel
confident that I actually do have talents. I always thought talents were only those of singing,
dancing, playing an instrument etc. Now that I know I possess personal talents which benefit
others in a godly manner, I feel confident knowing that I should continue on my current path. Of
course, it’s all in our Lord’s hands and His will shall be done in all I do.
