Introduction
Non-profit organization's purpose in the world is to help others instead of focusing their
energy on making a profit. They believe that providing the necessary assistance, individuals are
able to be successful in what they are trying to achieve. The biblical principle that comes to
mind is faith in God that this organization will provide services to better improve the lives
affected by emergencies. God’s children know that emergencies like disasters have the ability to
cause chaos that can be detrimental. The hope is that the disaster relief mission will help
individuals who have been affected by providing services that can help them recover and take
back their life. It is located at 615 Slaters Lane, Alexandria, Virginia 22314 (The Salvation Army
USA. National Advisory Board | The Salvation Army USA, n.d.).
Brief history of organization involvement in the community
This organization has been known to provide assistance to individuals when disasters have
occurred by assisting in housing, access to food as well as healthcare. The way that they have
been involved in the community is assisting with emergency housing. When it comes to access
to food, they have found ways for individuals to get access to nutritious food that is vital. With
healthcare, they have mobile health clinics that provide free service to anyone in need.
Partnerships
Partnerships that would help in this mission to assist when disasters occur would
homelessness shelters, free clinics, community health clinics and local food banks. Homeless
shelters could provide shelter for individuals who could have lost their home. Free clinics and
community health clinics could offer free health care that was not possible before. Local food
banks could supply nutritious food that is essential to consume in everyone's diets.

Description of project
In this grant proposal, the goal is to fix the problem that not many are educated about the
resources that can help when impacted by disasters. By educating individuals with information
about housing, how to access food and healthcare, it will allow individuals to not feel
hopefulness. Disasters have a way for individuals to lose hope and be stressed about the next
steps in their lives. Information is key to knowing what resources someone has to help them.
Board of directors and executive director
For each organization, there is usually a board of directors who are responsible for hiring the
CEO as well as overseeing the direction and strategy of the organization. “Essentially, it is the
role of the board of directors to hire the CEO or general manager of the business and assess the
overall direction and strategy of the business” (Skinner, 2024). Every year, the board of directors
will reconvene annually around December to review. The last names of the board of directors
are Adam’s-Mason, Klotz-Collins, Anderson, Lelekis, Manby; Dr, Caner, Dr. Martin, Chan,
McMullan, Clyde, Milzcik, Cooke, Molnar, Conce, Nicholson, Congressman Davis,
Paddison. Dmuchowski. Pina, Foster, Quinn, Flynn, Redd, Fraunshuh, Rowell-Lehman, Gorrie,
Ruiz, Grund, Schrobilgen, Harris, Howard, Taylor, Hunzeker, Ambassador Vasquez, Ice,
Williamson, Kaneshige, Woodward, Dr.Kim and Zumaya (The Salvation Army USA. National
Advisory Board | The Salvation Army USA, n.d.). Stephan Batsche is the executive director of
this organization (LinkedIn Login, Sign in | LinkedIn. LinkedIn, n.d). An executive director role
responsible for overseeing the daily operations, making sure to achieve goals among others
roles. “The executive director reports to the board of directors and is responsible for setting the
strategic direction for the organization, overseeing day-to-day operations, and ensuring the
organization's goals and objectives are met” (Wire, 2024). The roles that a executive director is
crucial and can help the organization be successful in achieving the mission and goal of the
organization.
