One of the basic needs for all individuals is education. If society lacked education, which
promotes improvements in the physical, social, political, and religious areas, humanity would be
worthless and undeveloped. Process Philosophy “represents a process view of life that
emphasizes becoming and progressive knowledge leading to a perfect society” (Ferdon, 2019).
Both the government and the educational system have been impacted by Process Philosophy.
The setup of a classroom could reflect how the students act (Hendley, 2018). If the classroom is
chaotic and unorganized, classroom behavior is likely to follow. “If something is changed, the
circumstance can be changed” (Hendley,2018).
Regarding education, America’s social structure is starting to change considerably. In the
past decade virtual reality has use education as a teaching tool. Standard teaching methods
including “textbooks, written assignments, and hands-on experience are starting to be replaced
with technology-based learning” (Babich, 2019). Long term, will this be helpful for educators
and students, or will it be detrimental? Instead of sitting in a classroom for hours, many
students are preferring to learn from home.
Moreover, if students have access to virtual reality and it offers more realistic
opportunities for schools, is this method helpful? Traditional education hasn’t changed all that
much over time; we continue to apply what we already learned by using our prior experiences
as a guide. However, the American mindset continues to develop in higher technology,
simulated ways that benefit students as well as educators. New educators might learn from
virtual reality in many ways. Once they graduate from college, they understand how to feel at
home in their new environment. In a sense, virtual reality is a tool for training educators
because it allows for experimental classrooms.

Additionally, students benefit from being able to experience in that world because it
improves their awareness of it. Students now have access to “virtual labs and testing where
they can not only gain insight but save money” (Babich, 2019). This offers students the
opportunity to interact with the assignments rather than spending hours doing meaningless
scrolling online. Also, this provides students a way to be creative. However, while there are
benefits, there are limits to virtual reality. This includes the requirements for educators to
switch from sharing knowledge to being only guides (Babich, 2019). In a sense that educators
aren’t the ones teaching but continuing to provide support for their students.
Furthermore, every student is treated equally under the educational system that the U.S
government has created. The development of the curriculum and teaching methods was built
based on the process philosophy. With the help of educational philosophy, the United States
has effectively used mindfulness in the classroom. The challenge with traditional education is
that it still uses outdated ways for educators to teach and for students to learning.
Overall, learning has changed considerably over the years. However, students need to be
provided with the right education they require, whether it be in a traditional classroom
environment or through virtual reality.
