o The importance of the environment is clean air, health, plants, and animals.
o People having knowledge about the environment and how to protect it.
•
Background
o Children’s health and the pollution
o Human responsibility for the environment is not just local it is global.

Conclusion:
Humans all have the responsibility for the environment, and it starts with mankind, it is not just a
local responsibility, but it is a global responsibility. Now there are even better resources such as
educations on how to not just maintain the environment but also protect it, so that in the end we
are making it safe for the citizens of now but for generations to come.

The responsibility for environmental wellbeing falls to all mankind, human beings
possess the highest effect in bequeathing the planet with either hope or despair. The power
humans hold intellectually does not come without responsibilities and consequences. The
coevolution between humans and earth’s environment is an absolute necessity for both
sustainable futures. Every failure to do so, will lead them ever so closer down the path of
extinction. The importance for the health of all living things habituating earth is a clean
environment, which can be achieved by acting out virtue ethics over that of selfish vices.
The key in achieving such thinking is education and providing the knowledge needed to
protect the environment. The reason for helping the environment varies from person to person,
resulting in the need for various informative educational outlets. For people who care about
children and the importance they hold for the future, the incentive for their health is one outlet.
Providing people with information on the health concerns of pollution, and the responsibility
they hold in keeping children not only simply safe but also in keeping them alive.
The idea that children of this generation is dealing with more medical issues then there
has been in the past, could be to the pollution of just not our air but also our water be the reason
why? On an everyday basis 90% of children around the world are breathing in toxic air, that
polluted air is a serious concern for child development risk and health problems. Polluted air
holds the greatest risk for children than adults because children’s breathing pattern is at a faster
rate; therefore, increasing the pollution absorption intake. WHO Director General Dr Tedros
Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated, “Polluted air is poisoning millions of children and ruining their
lives? This is inexcusable, every child should be able to breathe clean air so they can grow and
fulfill their full potential” (2018). Economic status unfortunately plays a factor for a child's
4
intake of polluted air. With 98% of the children Around the world children living in lower- and
middle-income countries, are exposed to ambient fine particulate matter (2.5) 98% above air
quality guidelines set by WHO. That percentage is an astonishing 46% higher than those living
in high-income countries. These disturbing facts cannot just be seen at a local vantage point but
on a global scale. The need for humans to see the problem on a larger scale and attack it as a
whole is instrumental in eliminating the threat pollution holds on the environment and
subsequently the human race's well-being. There is also the fact the pregnant women who are
exposes to polluted air; they are more likely to give birth prematurely. They are also to be known
to be born small, and a low birthweight This also can trigger asthma, cognitive ability, and
possible childhood cancer. Another incentive for humans to take responsibility for the health of
the environment is an increase in the financial and corporation systems. This is where the effect
of Social Responsibility plays a positive role for a healthy environment.
Environmental Education can benefit the world in many ways, contributing to
sustainability. It can build the knowledge and skills that will be needed to address complex
environmental issues, as well as we can take actions to keep our natural world healthy, keep our
economies productive and our communities vibrant. Bring a higher level on environment
knowledge can correlate with a higher gradation of a pro-environment and conservations
behavior. If the citizens of the world are more educated on things like recycling, using energy
effect products and conserving water they are mor likely do it in their every day lives. Through
environmental educations people will look at they are doing as more globally by acting locally.
What that means that if they recycle and conserve water in their own backyards, they will have a
lasting effect on the global as a whole.
5
The most important thing about yes if the citizens in their own household start to make
the changes to a better environment that is only a small percentage of what the issues are going
to be. The big corporations and business are the biggest issues with the number of pollutions and
carbon footprint that they have in the world. There are many companies that are making plans to
make their carbon foot prints smaller. For example, Nike has said this “Over the next five years,
we will work to reduce our carbon footprint by focusing on: Low-carbon materials: Reducing
0.5 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions by increasing our use of environmentally preferred
materials to 50% of all key materials. Decarbonizing our supply chain: Bending the curve of
greenhouse gas emissions from key suppliers’ operations, flatlining at 2020 levels or below
despite anticipated business growth, through renewable energy, energy efficiency, and
alternative fuels. 100% renewables: Driving 70% absolute reduction of greenhouse gas
emissions across our owned or operated facilities through 100% renewable electricity and fleet
electrification” (Nike.com. 2021) If more companies try to make this commitment, we will see a
change.
Right now, with the state the world is in with everyone staying home because of the
pandemic, people have become more aware of the environment but doing more gardening and
because of nothing having to go into the office or school there were less people on the roads.
Because of that we had seen we had seen many cities with a reductions in water pollutions and
improved air quality. The amount of still cars and no one on the roads made this possible. It
proposes the question, if we all carpooled or worked from how might our environment and
positions be? Could we see the oceans in Italy always be clear like they were during the
pandemic?
Humans all have the responsibility for the environment, and it starts with mankind, it is
6
not just a local responsibility, but it is a global responsibility. Now there are even better resources
such as educations on how to not just maintain the environment but also protect it, so that in the
end we are making it safe for the citizens of now but for generations to come. It will protect the
children of the generations behind to live a life not of medial issues but of a healthy life because
us of now are doing what we can so that this world will be around forever.
