Technology Integration Learning Plan
As education has advanced in the 21st century, technology integration has increasingly
become an instructional strategy in the classroom. Bond et al. (2018) conducted a meta-analysis
of over 50 years of research on educational technology and the integration of technology in the
classroom. The authors found that while technology integration has increased over time, there
still needs to be more institutional support required to properly train educators and provide them
with the space necessary for technology integration. Teacher motivation to become proficient in
new technology and to incorporate it into daily lessons is vital to successful technology
integration (Backfish et al., 2021). Additionally, teachers integrate technology to assist students
in their learning and help them learn to become ethical users in a digitalized age (Falloon, 2020).
ChatGPT is a newly developed chatbot that relies on artificial intelligence (AI) and has
quickly become a popular tech-based tool in education. Zhai (2022) shares that technology, such
as ChatGPT, is tough to detect, and it will for learning institutions to adjust learning goals for
students. Furthermore, students must learn to use AI-based technology responsibly and ethically
(Lund & Wang, 2023). Chatbots can assist students in analyzing text and data sets, making
research more efficient and precise. Students will need to learn how to use AI-based technology
to help review research and data sets but then make the ethical decision to report their findings in
their own words. Zhai (2022) recommends making assignments based on creativity and critical
thinking to help prohibit total reliance on ChatGPT.
