I really enjoyed reading your post. I agree there are some factual elements of science that
do not change at all. Science happens all around us each and every day. Science is everywhere,
especially in the world today. Science is the chemical reactions that take place when we are
preparing the foods that we eat or beverages that we drink. Science is the weather that is in our
outdoor environment in which we live. Science is the interactions that take place between all of
the different species living on earth, such as interactions between humans, plants, animals, and
insects. Science can be knowing and gaining more knowledge about a particular topic or event
than an individual previously had before. Science can be the art of doing something or
performing a particular task. Science can also be so much more! I also agree that Science should
be taught through a Biblical lens as well. It’s absolutely important for our students to learn about
the beauty that God has created as well as the different branches of science God has created.
Learning about science is all about gaining new experiences, which opens up so many avenues
that can accommodate multiple learning styles. When learning about science, students can work
with their hands. Students can also complete research or perform experiments when learning
about science. Learning about science can also help students make that vital connection to real-
world experiences, allowing them to continue to thrive. These students are our future. Learning
about science is important so that these students can continue to learn how to best take care of

I really enjoyed reading your post. I agree that Science should be more of a priority in schools. I
was taught science when I was in school as it was a requirement in public schools to be taught. I
had more exposure to it in middle school and high school though. I know at the Elementary
school I work at our second graders all the way through fifth graders have projects that they do
that get them super excited about learning science. Our second graders have learned about the
life cycles of plants and one of those life cycles is that of a sunflower. The students get to plant
sunflower seeds and they get to grow these flowers and keep a log of watering, light and growth
of the plant. When the project is over, they get to take the flowers home along with their logs on
the process. The students are always so happy and excited to show their parents the flowers they
have gotten to grow and what they have learned from it. Third grade gets to do a solar system
project. Our fourth and fifth grade students get do a project about hurricanes. They love getting
to put what they have learned into practice, and I feel like that is key in learning science. I do
wish with working in a public school we had a Biblical lens view with science. I do try to
incorporate that when working with these students as much as I can. . Science can be knowing
