Supports in the Classroom
The inclusion teacher introduced the students to graphic organizers. The graphic
organizers help the students to organize their thoughts onto paper. When the students can see and
read what they are already thinking, it helps them use these thoughts to write a paper about them.
She also tries to have another adult in the classroom, when available, to be able to help
students when she is not available to do so. Having more than one adult in the same classroom
ensures that the students will be able to receive assistance quicker and will be more likely to stay
on task.
When the teacher and another adult are not available to help a student, she tries to make
sure there are modifications set up with the help of today's technology. One example of this is a
specific software that helps them create a graphic organizer of their thoughts and print it out.
What Would You Do?
I understand that all people are different and therefore learn differently as students. In my
future classroom, I will use more than one type of teaching strategies to teach my students. I
believe that music is the perfect subject to be able to teach in several different ways. You can
hear music, see music, and do music. In my choirs, I will use worksheets and quizzes in my
classroom at least once a week to help with the music theory aspects we will be learning. I will
also provide examples of these aspects by performing it for them or using recordings from the
internet, when possible and appropriate. I may even ask them to perform them so they can
understand what it is like to do it themselves. These are all perfect examples of differentiated
instruction or personalizing your teaching for each student, and I plan on using them all.

Again, I do not believe that religion has any impact on or place in the educational setting,
as I have stated before. I can and will be a fantastic teacher, but it will have nothing to do with
my religious beliefs. My actions as a teacher will be based on my education as a student and the
fact that I will continue to learn something new about the educational setting every day.
