Biblical Worldview Assignment
Introduction
It is more important than ever for teachers to have a biblical worldview. Teachers are role
models to so many students that walk into their classroom year after year. The world is
changing, and it is imperative to share God’s message with as many lives as possible.
What is a worldview?
A person’s worldview is the way that they see and interact with the world around them.
A worldview is formed by the things a person has been through and have learned throughout
their lifetime. There are so many worldviews out there such as naturalism, pantheism, theism,
Spiritism, and postmodernism. Depending on where a person grew up, and what they have
experienced will determine what worldview they have. A Christian worldview falls under theism
where “an infinite, personal God exists. He created a finite, material world. Reality is both
material and spiritual. The universe as we know it had a beginning and will have an end”
(McCallum & Lowery, 2006).
Why worldview integration is so important for a Christian teacher to implement?
Worldview integration is so important for a Christian teacher to implement because they
are helping form the lives of their students every day. During the school year, students usually
spend more time with their teachers than their parents. This provides so much time for teachers
to be a positive, and Godly influence on their students. Students’ worldviews are guided and
influenced daily by teachers. It’s so important to spend that time wisely and implement a
Christian worldview into each lesson plan. “When God is left out, inadequate answers to life’s
biggest questions invariably lead to individual and social problems” (MacCullough, 2012, p. 11).

What does it mean to integrate?
“Biblical integration is far more than prayer and Bible reading before class begins”
(MacCullough, 2012, p. 11). Integration in the classroom is done by incorporating the bible into
each lesson plan. This can be done by getting the students to see how everything applies to
God because he is the creator of all. Nothing can exist without his knowledge or help. Dr. Sam
Smith said in the video link this week, that the Bible is the lens through which to see the world.
(Smith, 2012) Instead of trying to incorporate the Bible into the lessons, teachers should try to
incorporate the lesson into the Bible. This may be hard at first, but with practice it will become
easier.
How can a teacher begin to develop worldview integrative activities into the curriculum?
regardless of whether they teach in a Christian, private, or public school setting?
A teacher is able to integrate a biblical worldview into their classroom despite where
they teach by their actions and words. Students will be able to see that the teacher is living out
a Christian lifestyle by the way the carry themselves in the classroom. As a teacher grows in
their walk in the Lord they will have the love of God radiating from them. If a teacher is able to
speak about the bible because they work in a private school, they need to develop detailed
lesson plans that incorporate the bible into each lesson. For example, if the lesson is about the
different layers of the earth, the teacher can explain that “God designed the different layers of
the atmosphere for protection, for life to exist on Earth” (Bagley & Bincer, 2016). Teachers can
then ask open ended questions to get the students to think critically and develop Christian
worldviews.

Biblical integration in the school system should be a Christian teachers top priority. A
teacher has the opportunity to disciple many students as God has called them to do. The
educational system now is lacking in including God in lessons, and is actually trying to make it
impossible. The Proponents of Senate Bill 1146 in California are trying to make it illegal for
Christian schools to teach Christian curriculum. Knowing this, it is more important than ever to
proclaim God’s news so that all of his people can make the decision to follow for themselves.
