Preparation
What did you do before you
taught your lesson to make
sure your lesson would be
effective and run smoothly?
Before I taught my lesson I read through my lesson plan and
wrote down notes for myself that I could refer back to
throughout my lesson. I also prepared all of the material I would
be using for my lesson beforehand. The day before my lesson I
did a runthrough practice to test my timing for the lesson and to
make sure I wasn’t missing anything.

did you begin your lesson in
order to gain student interest?
Was it effective? Why or why
not?
For my opener I used a song that required that students to count
since that would get them to review counting to ten and
motivate them for the rest of the lesson. The students really
enjoyed this song and were excited as they sang and danced to
it. The song was effective because the had fun with it while
also using their counting skills.

of diverse learners?
My differentiate instruction met the needs of my students by
including the whole class by allowing each student to have a
turn and try for themselves. I also included engaging activities
so that the lesson would interest all the students .

I closed my lesson by assessing my students with the question
and answer’s we had learned throughout the lesson.

Student Involvement
Were you able to involve
all students in the learning
process? How? Why or why
not?
I was able to involve all my students in the learning process
because I designed my lesson to give all my student’s some
participation time. Each student was able to practice the
assigned skill during their turn and each student was able to use
what they learned during the activities to their independent
workbooks.
Teacher/Student Interaction
How was your rapport among
students? Were you able to
interact? Why or why not?
The students interacted very well with me during the lesson, but
these are my regular students that I teach everyday so they
know me and are comfortable with me. This also made it easy
to call on students because I know all of their names as well as
their ability and participation levels. Most of the students seem
to have enjoyed the songs and activities.

How can you prove that
students met the objective of
your lesson?
Honestly, my lesson plan is a bit too long for one class period
but I was able to use this lesson quite well because I had two
available class periods in a row this day. I usually like to use
my double periods for these types of lesson plans. I am also
able to do these activities and keep my students attention
because I have an assistant there to help. This would be a little
more
difficult if it were just me.

I received a good evaluation from my class from their response since they reacted in a
very happy and energetic way towards the activities. Many of the students raised their hand
very excitingly through the lesson to volunteer for their turn and I perceived this as them
enjoying what they were learning. The students also remained motivated through the lesson
because even during the bookwork at the end they tried their best.
2. Type at least 1 paragraph about what you will do differently to improve
your effectiveness as a teacher.

Giving all the students an opportunity to participate
and practice their skills.
Creating lessons at an appropriate length, not too short
and not too long.
Capturing the students interest and engaging them
throughout the lesson with materials for them to
interact with.
Creating strategies that include more students at a
time so that students don’t feel left out.
Using attention getters to get the class quickly back on
track and bring the attention back to the activity at an
appropriate noise level.

In the future, to improve my effectiveness as a teacher I will try to create ways where
more students can be involved at one time so that more students are engaged during all of the
lesson. I want to create strategies where more of the students can be included in as many
ways as possible while still keeping the lesson managed and organized. I want to also work
on created more alternative activities for students that finish early.
