Healthy Families
When speaking on the topic of “healthy families,” I believe are those who have a nice,
stable, two parent, discipled children. That theory comes from the fact, according to Dr. James
Dobson (2000), in he statedComplete Marriage and Family Home Reference Guide, , “Children
tend to thrive best in environments where love and control are present in balanced proportions.”
The impact of the roles both parents play in the involvement of bringing up good decent children
is one of the greatest life. Both mother and father play crucial roles in the impacts of a person’s
upraising of their children.
It is said that one of the most influential factors in the life of every child’s environment
would be none other than the mother (Dobson, J., 2000). In fact, it is hard to miss how honorable
and how loved and respected all the mothers throughout the Bible are all depicted (Bankole, E., &
Zawadi, L., 2021). When I think of the role the mother plays in her child’s life, I always think of
1 Corinthians 13 -7, :4 “Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, is not boastful, is not
conceited, does not act improperly, is not selfish, is not provoked, and does not keep a record of
wrongs. Love finds no joy in unrighteousness but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes
all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” All of those make up the characteristics of what, I
believe, is the way God intended on mothers to all be.
Fathers are also important factors involved in raising and guiding children. The father’s
role in the upbringing of the children acts on the role of the discipliner. He is also the leader of the
family and is responsible for teaching the children how to diligently live their lives in such ways
so they can be honorable to God (Harris, S., 2001). The Bible speaks plentifully on the fact that
the father is the authoritative figure of the family. For example, Ephesians 6:4 says, “Fathers, do
3
not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord,”
and again in Proverbs 13:24 with mentioning, “He who withhold his rod hates his son, but he who
loves him disciplines him diligently.”
I believe that old saying, It takes a village to properly bring up the children. The impact “ ”
of the roles both parents play in the involvement of bringing up good decent children is one of the
greatest impacts of a person's life. Both mother and father play crucial roles in the uprising of their
children. Fathers are also important factors involved in raising and guiding children. The father's
role in the upbringing of the children acts on the role of the discipliner. The Bible speaks plentifully
on the fact that the father is the authoritative figure of the family.
