How long are the days in Genesis 1? Why?
I don’t think we know, because God didn’t put the lights in the sky until the 2nd or 3rd day.
Probably millions of years, because the Bible is just a story.
24 hours, because the sun would have been created already which means the Days and Nights
would already be put in place.
How old is the earth and life? Why?
The Bible scenario is about 6000 years. From the genealogies.
Millions or billions of years long. Because it took millions and millions of years for life to evolve
to what it is today.
I would estimate the earth is about at least 5000 years old because Jesus would have been on
earth about 2000 years ago, and before him the Earth would have been around for a long time
already.
Did man and apes share a common ancestor? Why or why not?
No. Because God created man on a different day than He created animals.
I think so. I believe that man evolved apes.
No, they did not share common ancestors, because a mind can’t tell itself to think a certain way
or the brain can’t evolve into something. It has to already be of higher intellect from the start. So
man couldn't have come from an animal or thing that also has become an ape.
Were Adam and Eve real people? Why or why not?
Yes. The Bible says they were the first created. I think it’s literal, and not a metaphor.
No, it’s just an allegory. I said it’s just an allegory.
Adam and Eve were real people. The Bible tells us Adam and eve as a singular people. Though
the Bible also uses Adam and Eve to represent mankind. The real Adam and Eve would have
only been just two people.
