Abstract
I'll be providing a summary of chapters 1-3 of the book Embodying Integration in this
essay (Neff and McMinn, 2020). The father-daughter authors of the book include personal
stories and words of advice throughout. The writers offer suggestions for incorporating
Christianity in counseling settings. The word "lament" and what it implies for the client and
counselor, as well as the behavior that goes along with it, are examined in the first chapter.
