Abstract
My paper is a synopsis of chapters 1-3 of Neff and McMinn's 2020 book Embodying
Integration. They are a father-daughter team who discuss their personal experiences and
knowledge throughout the book. There is guidance on incorporating Christianity into a therapy
session. They are vocal proponents of incorporating Christianity into therapy.Neff and McMinn
take a fresh look at integrating psychology and Christian faith in a postmodern society. They
begin with theological issues and then investigate their relevance to the practice of therapy.
Therapy, psychology, and Christianity are all discussed in this book. I began by summarizing the
book's first three chapters. The reader will then understand how the book influenced me.
Personal reflection and implications for me as a future counselor will occur. Ethical issues that a
counselor should consider when working with a client will be thoroughly discussed as well. Near
the end, my spiritual development will be evaluated.
Neff and McMinn Part A
The first chapter begins by explaining the meaning of the word lament for both the
client and the counselor. Lamenting is defined as a process in which the client, the counselor,
and their surroundings are all involved. The second chapter continues to explain Ecclesiastes, a
