What is the correct context for the speech? Where and when will it be given?
The speech is for making a toast at a wedding ceremony. The speech was placed in a
wedding hall right after everyone has finished the dinner during a reception.

Who is the audience and what are their characteristics?
The main audience at the wedding is the married couple's family members and friends.
The age varies from 10-50, but most of the guests are in their mid-20s. They have a
Christianity background.

Why has the audience come to hear the speech?
The audience is listening to the toast to celebrate the couple's new season of life and
show love to them.

What are the interests of the audience?
The main interest of the audience is to hear what my relationship is with the couple and
their story regarding the couple.

The audience know that the purpose of the speech is to celebrate the couple's new start
and reminisce about the memories I had built with the couple as friends, and how
grateful I am to have them in my life.

Many people at the wedding agree with my speech about congratulating their new
chapters of life because everyone is there to celebrate them.

They nod when they agree with the point of how grateful I am to have the couples in my
life, and some may cry or laugh remembering their personal relationship with the couple
in the past.
Purpose
What do you want your audience to know?

The purpose of my speech is to appreciate my relationship with the couple, honor them,
and celebrate their new chapter of life as a husband and a wife.

What do you want your audience to think?
I want my audience to agree on how amazing people they were to others and that great
lives are ahead as married couples.

What do you want your audience to feel?
I want them to feel tender and grateful for the memories they have of the couple as I
reminisce about my own experience with them and how special they were to me as
friends and a family.

I expect that the audience would honor the speaker and the couple by focusing on and
reacting to the words they agree with. I want them to either look at me or the couple who
are being honored.
Thesis

What is the most important message of your speech?
My most important message is that their marriage is the starting point of an exciting
journey where they will feel the greater measure of love and blessings, and how
everyone in this place bless their journey in prayers.
Why should/will your audience care about your message?
T2.
Everyone in the room cares about the message because they are all there to celebrate
and show love to them. A wedding is a special occasion where people bless and support
a couple's new journey.
Reflection

Are your audience, purpose and thesis aligned? Why or why not?
All three factors aligned because the main reason for the speech is to honor the couple's
lives and show them love. All of the audience had the same purpose of being a part of
the wedding, and I was representing them to celebrate the couple and bless their new
start as a husband and a wife.
What did you learn from this experience?

I learned that analyzing the audience, purpose, and thesis helps the speech to be more
impactful to those who are listening. Making a speech spontaneously can be good, but
preparing and practicing can bring the audience to a deeper emotions.
