Informative Speech Outline
Topic: Character Development through extracurricular activities
Speech Pattern: Fill in here
Audience Analysis: My audience is my peers I chose this topic because it would be more
engaging to them since not all of them were involved in sports. Rather most of them were
in some sort of club or extracurricular activity at some point in their lives. The
experiences they had, whether good or bad, influence them today.
Introduction
I. Attention-Getter
Last February at our conference tournament I blew out my knee in a
placement match for nationals. I felt like there was glass shards in my knee
and still finished the match. And then two weeks later competed at Nationals
on one leg because I worked too hard to let that be the end of my season.
II. Credibility Statement
I grew up playing sports with my brother and learned what it’s like devoting
my time and energy to a dream or goal I want more than anything to
accomplish.
