Abstract
The distinction between selfish and covenant leadership methods in law enforcement
organizations has significant effects. While negotiating a society rooted in narcissistic leadership
presents substantial obstacles for newly appointed police chiefs, switching to a covenant
leadership style is necessary and doable. Organizations with egocentric leadership may have
authoritarian toxicity, inhibited imaginative thinking, and a culture of fear, whereas covenant
leadership stresses reliance, collaboration, and responsibility, encouraging unity among all
members. The change requires a planned approach, such as updating corporate goals,
