Constitution and Bible
When our great country was founded it was founded on a foundation of faith and Biblical
truths and principles. Our country stands tall on the word of God. Even with all this we cant let
the government take place of the Church and what we are called to do.
Constitution problems
The original constitution was held in Philadelphia in 1787. There were many great names
that were involved in writing our constitution and they all had their own different opinions and
ideas. While they were there none of them knew the importance that this article that they were all
contributing to had in the country and little did they know that years later it would be the most
important thing. With this being said that doesn't mean that the whole operation went 100%
smoothly. The main problem was there was no unity. Everyone that was there had their own
agenda for their own region of the country and it was very hard for them to put their own pride
and agenda aside and come to a conclusion that in the end could benefit the whole country. It
took them a very long time to see past their own views and start actually working for true
change. How these issues were settled was one of the founding fathers actually suggested that
they need to look to God and not to themselves and the other founding father agreed. After this
Benjamin Franklin asked for prayers and they attended Church for around three days and when
they had returned the aura was different, it felt like everyone was starting to cooperate more and
actually agree and try to make change.
Gods role
God was very much in the making and creation of the constitution. Between prayer church and
the Bible the Lord had his hands all over the founding of the constitution. There are even biblical
sources for stuff that is found within the constitution.

Scripture in constitution.
There are multiple references to scripture within the constitution. One of the references is
the three Heads of Government. This comes from Isiah where the lord is the judge lawgiver and
king. Another principle that is found in the Bible also and the constitution is tax exemption for
religious purposes. That is found in ezra and allows Churches to get income without being taxed
because churches live of donations/
The four principles .
As learned there are four political issues. Those four issues are the issues of abortion and
gay marriage, political appointments and religious acknowledgements. For cultural relevance
there's something that is very talked about and controversial today the best issue or most
important issue is the issue of abortion. When we asked the question is abortion in compliance
with God's law the answer is clearly no. Deuteronomy 5:17 says do not murder. With this verse
straight up telling us not to murdered there are also references in the Bible about God loving the
unborn and Jesus loving little children. One of the most famous court cases that involves the act
of abortion is Roe V wade. This made the act of having an abortion a protected right legally.
Many people theorize that when Roe V wade was past America took a downward spiral and
thankfully it is overturned the problem is not finished because now the states have the power to
decide about the laws for abortion
Dealing with the poor.
Another important issue is the treatment of the poor and less fortunate. So what is the role
of the Christian and the role of the government in taking care of the poor? Proverbs 19:17 tells us
what our job is in taking care of the poor is. This verse tells us that we are supposed to be
generous and take care of the poor. There are multiple ways for us to take care of the poor either

in donating to food pantries or homeless shelters and such stuff as that. One way my church
serves the poor is we have a food pantry and we also have a ministry where we go out and serve
meals to the poor and less fortunate. This is a very effective method because while giving them
food it also helps us to be able to have an opening for gospel centered conversations. One
government program that is similar to this is food stamps and EBT cards. This is very
controversial because oftentimes well it is intended for poor people people just misuse it and use
it as an excuse not to work or get a job.
Conclusion
In conclusion our country was founded on principles of biblical structure and this
founding was not smooth sailing the entire way until they implemented the Lord. God has been
very gracious and faithful to this country even through testing times such as Roe V wade. The
constitution is very essential and its founding is how we are able to live the lives that we Live
Today and also have the freedom to glorify God in our daily lives.
