MINISTRY INTERNSHIP PROJECT: MINISTRY TEMPLATE

Initial Idea — How well did the student brainstorm about possibilities?
The initial idea behind the project was to provide emotional and psychological support to the
entire community and its members during the time of the Covid 19 pandemic by sharing the
message of Christ. The community church had to effectively respond to the evolving regulations
that the government had introduced relating to social distancing.
Project Development — How well did the student recruit others to help carry out the
ministry project?
A systematic approach was adopted while working on the ministry project so that valuable
assistance could be provided at the community level. The first step that we took involved
replacing the in-person Sunday church service with an online Sunday church service. It helped to
ensure that the strict social distancing norms where being adhered to by the church and its
members1. It was not easy to communicate with everyone on the virtual platform but the
recruited members of the project such as the lead pasture, and team leaders focused on
engagement, compassion and interaction which helped to maintain the strong association even
during the pandemic. We all worked together so that the faith in Christ could be maintained
throughout the truing times among the members of the community.

Project Assessment — How beneficial was the ministry project? How well did the ministry
project fit within the church’s goals?
The ministry project was highly beneficial as it acted as an opportunity to serve the community
members in a selfless and dedicated manner. While working on the project every involved
member was enthusiastic to spread the Christian values and principles so that people could
understand that Jesus Christ was with them during the challenging times. Once such a faith had
been established, the interaction during the online Sunday church service became more positive.
It was also observed that the community members were behaving cohesively to provide moral
support to each other.
The ministry project fit very well within the goals of the church. The ultimate objective of the
church was to serve the community. The project made it possible to serve the community during
the pandemic times by sharing the message captured in the Gospel.
Initial Results — What were some of the initial results after the ministry project (i.e. were
prospects enlisted, were people plugged into ministry, did it seem successful initially, etc.)?
Some of the initial results that were observed after the ministry project was undertaken involved
the increase in the number of members who took part in the online Sunday church service and
cooperation among the members throughout the interaction. The Sunday service helped the
people to have faith in Christ instead of feeling anxious during the pandemic situation. As they
realized that they all were facing the same kinds of issues and concerns, their confidence
improved. After seeing the initial results of the virtual service, its duration was increased.
Leadership — How would you evaluate the student’s ability to lead in ministry projects
based on his/her leadership with this project?

While working on the ministry project I got an opportunity to showcase my leadership skills and
help the other project members to support the community members during the pandemic times.
For example, before starting the project we were not sure about whether the virtual in-person
Sunday service concept would be a success or not. Then I had an honest discussion with the
project members about the initiative. I made them understand that the underlying purpose of the
service was still the same. Thus by sharing my vision, the confidence of the project members got
boosted and we were able to provide emotional as well as psychological support to the
community members during the pandemic by spreading the teachings of Jesus Christ. I was also
able to demonstrate my leadership skills by ensuring that a transparent and open communication
in all the virtual Sunday service sessions. Even though meeting in person was not possible during
the pandemic, a healthy interactive environment was created online where individuals could
openly talk about their concerns
Additional Comments:
The ministry project was a success as it helped the community members to get closer to one
another.
