Assessment
After completing Amara’s assessment, Amara will receive a diagnosis of Generalized
Anxiety Disorder. To better clarify Amara’s diagnosis, The Generalized Anxiety Disorder
Assessment (GAD-7) will be used. This 7-item assessment tool will rate the severity of Amara’s
worry and anxiety symptoms. I chose the GAD-7 because it is easy to use and can quickly
Identify likely cases of Generalized Anxiety disorder using criteria in the DSM-5 (Sapra et
al., 2020) .
