Research question 1: How do individual and group decision processes aid or impede
business decision making?
Decision making process
According to decision making in organizations plays a crucial Li, Kou & Peng, (2016)
role in the creation of the ultimate approach for achieving positive outcomes. Making decisions
helps in determining the implications of certain actions and alternative actions on the overall
level of success of a given entity. Decision making revolves around the identification and
analysis of the various alternatives which may influence the quality of the ultimate actions taken
in the long run. When it comes to the creation of strategies, the management usually engages in
analyzing the available options for consideration before arriving at the ultimate option and hence
recommendation. In the process, there are various factors which may undermine or support the
quality of the final decision which a business makes.
A business can use various approaches and techniques when it comes to making
decisions. There are diverse strategies and processes which either an individual or group can use
to make the ultimate decisions. The selection of the desired approach can depend on various
factors. For instance, in the individual setting, it is possible to select a given approach to make
the ultimate decisions based on the perceptions and level of knowledge of the affected parties
(Marshall, Brown & Radford, 2017). The same case may apply to the group setting but with the
influence of the leader.
