Abstract
A clear and informative employee handbook provides employees with necessary information
regarding their employer, their expected conduct, and additional benefits provided to them.
Employees are able to review the employee handbook as a resource and to understand the
policies and procedures laid out by the company. An employee handbook also includes legal
guidelines to ensure both the employee and employer are informed of their rights. For all
organizations, providing employees with a handbook is an additional step to legally protect both
parties and communicate company policies in a uniform manner to every employee. This manual
serves to recommend policies a small business should consider including in its employee
handbook.
