Culture can be defined as “A collective name for all behavior patterns socially acquired
and transmitted by means of symbols; hence a name for all the distinctive achievements of
human groups” (cite). Culture includes an array of items like language, art, law, morals, and
religion. However, it also contains material implements in which cultural achievements are
represented where intellectual cultural features are given effect like buildings, tools,
communication devices, and machines. It is important to customer behavior and marketing
because culture indicates the approved ways of solving product-related problems for consumers.
“It not only influences preferences, but also the way people make decisions” (Aaker and
Sangupta, 2000)
What does the statement “culture sets boundaries on mean? behaviors”
Culture supplies boundaries within which must people think and act. The nature of these
cultural influences is such that we are well aware of them. A person behaves, thinks, and feels in
a way consistently with that of other people with the same culture or values, since it seems
natural or right to do so. “Culture operates primarily by setting boundaries for individual
behaviors and by influencing the functioning of each institution as the family and mass media”
