MODULE 2 1
An audience analysis is constructed with the combination of three questions. "Who will I
be addressing? Why should my listeners really care about the information I present? What do I
want the audience to know, believe, and or do because of my presentation?" (Cooper &
Schindler, 2014, p 549) Henry and Associates are presenting on a MindWriter project. In the
presentation, Henry & Associates utilized the three Aristotle principles of communication. Those
three principles are ethos, pathos, and logos which are sequentially aligned as answers to the
three questions above. Jason Henry, of Henry & Associates, began by building the presentation
on the first priority for the MindWriter project. This usage of pathos communication in the
presentation stimulated an emotion of receptivity as he was able to bring the employees of
MindWriter at ease with immediately providing a solution to the issue.
Next, their audience analysis consisted of projecting credibility as the research is aligned
with statistical data and strong recommendation in favor of the objective for the MindWriter
Project. Jason projected credibility by supplying a visual aid for guidance in addition to his oral
presentation. Ethos communication also includes good moral character which was attributed by
Jason when being prompted for accolades that belong to a different presenter. Jason accepted the
accolades for the research he contributed and allowed the praises of someone else's hard work be
received by that individual. Jason was able to compare MindWriter current process to the
potential of the project which allowed the audience to become eager for the information.
Logos is the final principle utilized by Sara in the research as well as the presentation to
guide the executives properly. Her usage of the Q & A tool engaged the audience in presentation.
MODULE 2 2
Engaging the audience in a web-delivered presentation such as Henry & Associates can involve
the audience by typing in questions as a surveying consensus. At the end of Jason's presentation,
he instructed all questions be emailed to Sara or himself which is an act of engaging with the
audience. Throughout the presentation, Henry & Associates, performed an audience analysis and
engaged the audience in the presentation.
