DISCUSSION QUESTION 2
Intellectual property
Intellectual property (IP) is an intangible property category which majorly involves
human intellect (Rights, 2016). It refers to mind creations such as inventions, artistic works,
designs, symbols, marks, or images used in commerce. There is various intellectual property;
they include; patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. All the mentioned forms of
intellectual property are protected by law. The primary purpose of the law is to encourage
innovation of intellectual goods. Protection is vital as it helps protect other peoples'
ideas(Rights, 2016). Without these protections, individuals and intellectual creators would not
benefit fully from their inventions and discourage research and development in the production
and manufacturing industries.
Companies need to always balance their business needs with their customers to ensure
the company/corporation's long-term continuity. For-profit corporations can ensure they balance
their business needs with that of customers by ensuring maximum customer satisfaction, which
builds customer loyalty (Reiser, 2018). An increase in customer loyalty through customer
satisfaction increases the potential for future revenue growth. The revenue growth is achieved as
a result of loyal and frequent purchasing clients/ customers. Once the corporation has attained
loyal customers, it is automatic that revenue will grow, and shareholders will benefit by earning
dividends, their investment return.
Satisfied customers often go spreading the news, which in turn, the corporation benefit
from a free advertisement. Word of mouth is mostly acknowledged and has a significant
influence on people's choices and decisions. Ensuring stakeholders are well rewarded, paying
employees well, retaining workers, and improving customer satisfaction will always remain
valuable and competitive in the market, resulting in a win-win situation between the business and

the customers. Intellectual property is created through research and development, which benefits
both the customers and the creator, so intellectual creators invest their time (Reiser, 2018). The
creation of intellectual property is beneficial to an individual or corporation due to profitable
gains. No one would have bothered to spend and invest much of their time creating these
properties if they were not going to benefit them in the long run.
Companies need to protect their intellectual property and, if other copies will end up
damaging the corporation's reputation, revenue shareholders, and customers (Reiser, 2018).
Intellectual properties are protected through patents, lawsuits, or other legal ways (Tyler, 2016).
Companies whose primary mission is creating products that depend on the customers are
responsible for ensuring much focus on the customers more than themselves. In Philippians
2:3;4, the bible talks about focusing or placing other people’s needs above our own. Since the
products produced are focused on improving people's lives, the companies have a duty to the
customers and ensure that products made are best and suitable for consumption. As a result of
doing these, the corporation’s mission to create products that live to depend on being fulfilled.
An excellent example of such a company is transcendence. Transcend company is all
about employing medical language specialists who provide transcribing services and
documentation of other services in medical facilities. They also work hard to develop
technologies that help medical practitioners provide the best and quality services to their clients.
Transcend has dramatically benefited by focusing on customers as it has helped the company
increase and multiply in terms of stock more than six times. The bible says in Mathew 7:12 that
we should always do to others what we would like to be done unto us. The biblical principle is
referred to as the golden rule that emphasizes treating others well and always improving other
people's lives and treating them with the respect we would love to be treated with.
DISCUSSION QUESTION 4
It is indicated in the bible that we need to make sure we do good to others for our
prosperity and our businesses. In business corporations, much focus needs to be concentrated on
ensuring maximum customer satisfaction, especially when the business's sole /primary mission is
to create products that improve human livelihood. By doing these, we are assured in Galatians
6:9-10 that our businesses will thrive and grow more prominent and thriving in the future. From
the biblical view, if I operated such a corporation, I would put much effort into customer
satisfaction and periodically evaluate what motivates me and what I am doing in a biblical
worldview. By making these decisions about my company, I'm serving God and my customers
and those around me.
In Matthew 22:36;40, Jesus, the son of God, taught the importance of loving God and
our neighbours as He was responding to the Pharisees. The Pharisees asked him, "Rabbi, which
is the greatest commandment in law?" he replied to him. "You shall love the lord your God and
with all your heart and with all your soul and all your mind. This is the greatest and first
commandment. Second is like it: you shall love your neighbor as you love yourself. On these two
commandments depend all the law and the prophets." It is clear from the bible verse that we are
supposed to love God and treat our neighbours with love and honour them.
As a manager in such a company, loving God would be my priority and follow his
commandments to the latter and ensuring my love for others, especially my customers. When
we know God's ways and follow Jesus' teachings, as a manager, customer satisfaction is the top
priority, which helps in earning customer loyalty, which results in our businesses' growth and
increased revenue. I would always place my customer's needs before my business and ensure that
I provide the best products in the market for consumer consumption as I would not like to get
inadequate services and low-grade products if I was the consumer. Placing customers/consumers'

any business.
