Abstract
Questions
Q1. Explain the organization’s product plan. (Ch. 8)
John 3:16 Caffee is a coffee shop serving St. Cloud, Florida. As the owner Kristy Lint states on
the caffe’s website: “I believe Christ is paving the way for his gospel to spread; therefore, I am to
be His hands and feet. As I am walking in the purpose God has prepared for me, I am crafting the
art of coffee as I share Christ with those around me one cup at a time.” This statement illustrates
perfectly the caffe’s product plan. By serving her community the highest quality coffee possible,
Lint hopes to spread the word of God and a Jesus loves you with anyone that comes through the
doors.
Q2. Explain the product’s/service’s current life cycle stage (introduction, growth, maturity or
decline). Select one stage to discuss and omit the others. (Ch.8)
For the purpose of this assignment, I will be focusing in the introduction stage within the
product’s life cycle. Despite the abundance of coffee shops in the St. Cloud area, the coffee
culture in Florida is extremely prominent. John 3:16 Caffee stands out just by its theme and
atmosphere. There is no other Christian caffee in the area. According to the article What is
Product Lifecycle? 4 Stages + How to Manage Them by Coursera, “the business strategy and
marketing goal during the introduction stage is product exposure (making consumersAawareAof
your product). You may need to educate consumers on the benefits and uses of your product at
this stage.” John 3:16 Caffe introduces new products each weather season. For example, they
promote cold brew iced coffees in the warmer months. The caffee has also a strong presence in
social media. Instagram is their most popular site. There, they promote their products as well as
educate people about their business and other events they host.

Q3. Discuss viable techniques of building the equity of the brand. (Ch.9)
The John 3:16 Caffee already excels at several techniques to solidify their brand equity. Their
brand displays a solid image from the moment customers see their signage to when they leave.
All their designs are cohesive and eye catching, as well as easy to remember. The caffe has a
distictive and recognizable logo that instills calmness and happiness. The logo is characterized
by flowers, a warm cup of coffee, and the white color. It is inviting to say the least. The logo can
be found in all their cups and utensils, creating brand association. Even the menu names are
selected after biblical names, which brings the cohesiveness of the caffe’s theme to a new level.
In addition, the caffee hosts worship nights and support other small entrepreneurs in the area.
These are two strong reasons consumers are loyal to the brand, in addition to the quality of their
products. Finally, they have a prayer board in store that welcomes everyone to post on it. They
also host a virtual prayer post for people to support and pray for each other online. All these
efforts have added to a strong brand equity.
Q4. Discuss several branding decisions recently made or appropriate to make. (Ch.9)
When it comes to branding decisions, it is difficult to predict if the caffe follows a stand-alone
versus a family branding strategy given that the caffe is the only business endeavor that Lint has
at the moment. I lean to family branding since all her business efforts are directly linked to the
caffe and any new product or branding ideas are made within John 3:16 Caffe. At the moment,
there are no other branding decisions made such as licensing or co-branding. In my opinion, a
good branding decision for the brand would be to create a line of merchandise. Perhaps the most
appropriate way to proceed would be by creating a new/sister brand to the caffe to sell
merchandise that would promote the original brand values and mission.
Q5. Discuss organizational efforts at customer satisfaction, loyalty, and retention. (Ch.10)
John 3:16 Caffe 4
John 3:16 Caffe excels in the areas of creating customer satisfaction, retention, and loyalty. The
owner truly has a passion for connecting with people and telling them about the love Jesus has
for them. She serves her community by helping fellow entrepreneurs, which creates bonds and
promotes customer retention. Moreover, the caffe focuses their efforts in interacting with
consumers, in person and through social media, to focus on their wants without neglecting
quality. “Companies thrive by delivering on customers’ satisfaction expectations in combination
with quality, value, and complaint handling. The focus should then be to manage the
optimization of satisfaction relative to customer expectations and company resources used” (Hult
& Morgeson). John 3:16 Caffe understands what how to mak their customers welcome and
happy. As referenced above, they host worship parties and promote prayer boards. All those are
excellent ways to create customer retention and loyalty. The customer feels satisfied after
interacting with anyone in the caffe, whether it is in person or online.
