Introduction
As a project manager, the main task is to ensure that a project runs smoothly and that all
the objectives are achieved within the stipulated budget and time. This paper focuses on a major
hotel management mobile and website application project. It defines the project scope, goals and
objectives, project timeline, resources, overall cost, and the expected challenges and provides
recommendations for curbing the same.
Project summary
Oceanic Hotel was started in 2008, and it has managed to find its way into a five-star
restaurant. Its reputation goes beyond the US borders, and it’s always a big tourist and traveler’s
choice. The hotel has for a long time used a restaurant management system (Website and Mobile
application) which has not been efficient in making reservations, order management, corporate
management, and labor scheduling. With this, Oceanic Hotel management wants to mend these
loopholes as it has seen a significant negative effect on customers’ attitude towards the services
they offer. Further, the hotel wants to offer a new experience to their customers and to boost their
customer base.

3. Expand the loyal customer base who would love to come again and again
Project Objectives
1. To simplify the efficacy of the mobile and website application

hotel management services
3. To minimize the time a customer uses to check or reserve a table, space, or room and to
improve overall customer experience.
Key Customers and Stakeholders
According to Kerzner and Kerzner (2017), every project has its targeted customers and
stakeholders. Similarly, this project targets specific customers to Oceanic Hotel:
•Tourists
•Local customers
•Any individual with a taste for quality and outstanding hotel services.
Oceanic Hotel will be the main financier and stakeholder to the project since the project is
channeled towards achieving a specific hotel management application solely designed to achieve
a high competitive advantage in the market.

Challenges and Recommendations
According to Turner (2014), a project manager is synonymous with being a professional problem
solver. Every project has its own strengths and challenges. The problems that might be
experienced in this project is the changing consumer needs, and poor communication. However,
to overcome the challenges, an intensive analysis of the past, current, and future customer needs
will be analyzed to make sure that all are addressed. Further, the communication problem will be

handled through regular communication within the project team, and regular updates to the
stakeholders.
