First, I want to start off by saying how great of a job you did on the research and format of this
discussion board. It was thoroughly thought out and concise in getting to the point at hand
concerning the assignment. Telecommuting is at all-time high in the workforce nowadays and
some candidates state that it is a requirement in order to accept a position. My company allows
me to telework once a week, but additional telework opportunities are available in the summer
months. Telework for me provides convenience without having to deal with the commute once a
week. If you know anything about the DMV area then you know traffic is at an all-time high all
the time. I see teleworking as a positive aspect because the lack of social interaction once or
twice a week doesn't affect the worker that much in regards to getting projects accomplished.
Telecommuting offers much more positive outcomes rather than the few negatives, work-life
balance is key for many employees when looking for jobs in certain companies. Many people
want to know that a company cares for their family like the employee cares for the company. I
often find that when working from home I tend to work longer and take fewer breaks, but the key
is finding balance in anything and determining what is right for you or not.
