Data Collection
The business environment currently is surrounded by data, and that data is essential to
understand and utilize correctly. Using data analytics provides company information so that
when they are making decisions to further the company, they will be set up for success. When
the information is gathered, it is categorized with variances, totals, population and mean. One
other factor is who is the intended audience so they can be successful. In data collection, there
are passive data to be collected and active data to be collected. Kinds of active data to collect are
census taking, social media research, feedback provided for users or customers, surveys or
questionnaires. Randomization data should be used when a bias needs to be avoided while the
collection of the data is used (Bartlett, 2013). When the data is collected naturally through
observation, it is still essential to the business analytics. All the data that is collected or given to a
company needs to be used in the best way possible.+
Sampling
One definition of anecdotal is the collecting of information (Bartlett, 2013). Using
anecdotal information is a practical style of data gathering because it does not have
randomization as a part of it. Anecdotal information consists of personal observations. When
making a plan to gather data, the population of the area you are getting the information from
needs to be taken into account. The simplest sampling styles are Systematic Sampling and
Simple Random Sampling. To understand the cause and effect of something, an experiment
needs to be the style of information used.+
Data Software
When companies use software analytics will ensure that data analysis, data collection, values,
data processing, and reaching goals are happening. To have the data analyzed there are an array
of tools and software that can be used to do it. Each company needs to maintain current and
helpful software to make sure it is meeting the company's needs (Ahmed & Pathan, 2018). If the
software is regularly checked, the money that is used to keep it to a high standard will pay for
itself.
Data management
In a company, the data it has needs to be appropriately managed to ensure it is there so the
company can use it in the decision making processes. Having a solid data management plan in
place is essential because it becomes a vital improvement tool for the company to use. Having an
automation component of data analysis is a helpful tool to have in a company. Proper
management of the data analysis is essential because it can provide advancement to the
relationship with their customers (Chen et al., 2019). Having a solid management plan for the
company's data is valuable and should be looked at as an asset. Part of that management plan
needs to have feasible access methods, strategies, integration plans and methods of the best ways
for storage. How the company deals with the data is what it is going to give its worth and level of
being an asset.
Biblical Tie In
God wants us as Christian leaders to have plans and be organized to honor him in
everything we do (Merida et al., 2015). "But don't begin until you count the cost. For who would
begin construction of a building without first calculating the cost to see if there is enough money
to finish it" (Luke 14:28, New Living Translation). We see with this verse in Luke that we need
to gather our information to be able to analyze it and apply it to our plans. When we are
gathering our samplings, we need to keep God in mind regarding how we are conducting it.
Making decisions will also be easier and better decisions will also be made in the organization.
