Miracle and Resurrection Story
This course has introduced Christianity to a secular friend who struggles to believe in
miracles and Jesus’ resurrection. The non-believers do not apply the Bible narrative in their lives
and refuses to learn about the Gospel. The text says, “The gospel is both the goal and the lens
through which the apologetic task is approached. The gospel spurs us to put others before
ourselves; hence, the importance of an other-centered and holistic apologetic approach.”1
(1Chatraw and Allen, 2018) We can utilize apologetics to share our beliefs with other cultures.
Our Christian faith highlights the legitimacy of Christianity as a historical text. We can appreciate
the Gospel and Christ’s resurrection if we solidify our faith.
The apologist should cite Scripture to the secular friend to encourage salvation. The
Gospel of John says, “30Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which
are not written in this book; 31 but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the
Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” (English Standard
Version, 2024) The holy words of God will discourage the secularist; our focus must be on how
Chatraw and Allen speculate the Gospel message. The text says, “God, who is good, gives
commandments because they are the only way to truly flourish. God’s rules point us to a deeper
wisdom that leads to a virtuous life. He teaches us how to become like the ultimate exemplar of
human flourishing, namely, Jesus Christ.”5 (5Chatraw and Allen, 2018) The authors believe that
the Gospel is important to incorporate in our lives. According to Webster’s dictionary, the term
“miracle” is referred to as an extremely outstanding or unusual event. What we need to affirm is
the power of miracles and challenge its meaning in our lives. The witness of miracles leads to
salvation.
The competing narratives borrow miracles from the Christian story. Christianity better
address our experience, observations, and history through spreading the Gospel to other
cultures.
In the New Testament, the story of Paul and Silas resonates with how Christ died on the cross
for our sins. “When Christ died for us, he opened the door for us to be saved, like opening the
door to the prisoners. him with our whole life, we experience freedom from past sins and future
fears, along with contentment, joy, love, and power today.”6 (6Timothy Keller, 2023) The
unexplainable occurrences in the world represent that there is a divine King, who is greater than
our ingenuity. The miracle that Jesus performed symbolized the glorious wedding between the
church and Christ at the wedding. This beautiful miracle incorporated water pots to turn one
hundred twenty gallons of water into wine. His desire for us is to allow him to manifest his glory
in our lives.
The light of the truth is that without Jesus Christ, there would be no forgiveness of sins.
He created us to live and seek Him every day. His kindness was stretched forth when he died for
our sins. His unfailing love of taking upon him the condemnation of our sins, should move us to
come to a repentance of our sins. The wonder and power of the cross reveals His gracious love
for our salvation. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And
this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
(English Standard Version, 2024) The grace of God’s Son dying on the cross is a beautiful picture
of His longsuffering. His gift of salvation is to purify us from all unrighteousness. Christ’s
resurrection is the source of eternal salvation. Jesus, Yeshua, means “God is Savior of the
world.” When you have faith, God’s purpose in our lives is to share others with the Gospel.
In the Bible, there were five hundred witnesses of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. If we
examine historical data, Jesus’ followers were in such a state of grief during this time of His
resurrection. Within the natural laws in Bible times, hallucinations occurred on account of His
resurrection. The only way to answer the unbelievers' skepticism about Christianity is through
sharing the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The resurrection is a biblical narrative that points to the
miracle of Jesus Christ. John 11:25-26 says, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes
in
Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die."
(New King James Version, 2024) The truth of Christ’s resurrection is that we share eternity with
Him. In the past century, archeological discoveries prove of His resurrection. Near the eastern
Mediterranean, broken fragments of pottery and Dead Sea scrolls were collected that date back
to the time period of Christ’s resurrection. “By rising from the dead, Jesus Christ fulfilled his own
promise to do so and solidified the pledge he made to his followers that they too would be
raised from the dead to experience eternal life. (John 14:19)”1 (1Mary Fairchild, 2024) The
miracle of Christ’s resurrection recognizes the power of salvation. The resurrection indicates
that Christ unconditionally loves us.
Those who do not have their Lord and Savior should eventually seek Him when we
spread the Gospel to others. We can bring love, hope, and peace to other cultures if we share
the miracles from the Bible. When helping others find their purpose and direction in life, we
must firmly believe in the power of miracles. “He wrote that the miracles found in the Bible,
“prepare for, exhibit, or result from the Incarnation,” which he refers to as “The Grand
Miracle.”17 (17Bill Smith, 2019) As Christians, our mission is to travel to other cultures and serve
other communities with compassion. We must be devoted to sharing the good news of Jesus
Christ with others. We must all remember that God has called us to be ministers of the Gospel. I
believe that Christians should share the Gospel with others to testify to the miracles that have
been witnessed. The miracle of
Christ’s resurrection is a longsuffering for other individuals to become Christians.
