Study Strategies to Use
To begin with, before we go into the strategies to help students learn, it is important we
understand the definition of learning. With that being said, our textbook says, “Learning is
defined as relatively permanent changes in behavior that result from experience but are not
caused by fatigue, maturation, drugs, injury, or disease” (George, 2021). Therefore, one thing I
would keep in mind is to keep stress to a minimal level during the learning process
Furthermore, regarding the studying strategies to be used, I would try to make the
seminar as practical as possible, as opposed to just theories and reading. I believe that
experience is the best teacher, therefore, requiring students to engage in actually using the
concepts studied about will help them better understand the material as well as lead to them

retaining the information. Another concept that I would use from the text would be the concept
of positive reinforcement; I believe providing the student with some type of reward for their
efforts will prove to be motivating in the learning process.
Lastly, I would try to reduce the fear of failure in the classroom, I believe that the fear of
failure is what keeps students from engaging in classroom conversations, therefore, I would
encourage students to speak up regardless of if they are sure of the answer or not, with no
negative consequences as a result of getting answers wrong. The Bible says, “Therefore
encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing” (1 Thes 5:11, ESV). The
Bible asks us to encourage one another, and I believe this instruction can be conveyed into the
classroom to build a sense of cohesion among students and help each one uplift one another.
Cautions of Multitasking
Moving on, when it comes to multitasking, I would teach my students the importance of
prioritizing tasks and time management. This should help them focus on one task at a time and
ensure that they still get everything done while avoiding the stress of multitasking.
Furthermore, the textbook says, “As people try to multitask, their cognitive resources get
“stretched” to their maximum ability, which interferes with performance as well as results in
more rapid fatigue” (George, 2021). I would inform my students about the consequence of
fatigue as a result of multitasking in order to discourage them from excessive amounts of it.
An article about multitasking says, “Giving your full attention to what you are doing will
help you do it better, with more creativity and fewer mistakes or missed connections” (Skerrett,
2012). The article tells us the benefits of performing one task at a time and thus I would convey
these benefits to students in order to encourage the aforementioned.
