A few ideas of what you want
◊Multiple points of view
‘Six Thinking Hats’ is an important and powerful technique
It is used to look at decisions from a number of important perspectives
This forces you to move outside your habitual thinking style, and helps you to get a
more rounded view of a situation
White Hat - logical
Focus on the data available
Look at the information you have, and see what you can learn from it
Look for gaps in your knowledge, and either try to fill them or take account of
them
Analyze past trends, and try to extrapolate from historical data
Red Hat - emotion
Look at problems using intuition, gut reaction, and emotion
Think how other people will react emotionally
Try to understand the responses of people who do not fully know your reasoning
Black Hat - negative
Look at all the bad points of the decision.
Look at it cautiously and defensively and try to see why it might not work.

Strategic Decision Making
Eliminates, alters, and/or prepares contingency plans to counter weakness.
Helps make plans 'tougher' and more resilient.
Helps spot fatal flaws and risks before you embark on a course of action.
Yellow Hat - positive
The yellow hat helps you to think positively.
It is the optimistic viewpoint that helps you to see all the benefits of the decision
and the value in it.
Yellow Hat thinking helps you to keep going when everything looks gloomy and
difficult.
Green Hat - creativity
The Green Hat stands for creativity.
This is where you can develop creative solutions to a problem.
It is a freewheeling way of thinking, in which there is little criticism of ideas.
Blue Hat - many different options
The Blue Hat stands for process control.
This is the hat worn when running into difficulties because ideas are running dry
◊Cost/benefit analysis
Evaluating quantitatively whether to follow a course of action
Costs are either one-off, or may be ongoing. Benefits are most often received over
time.
We build this effect of time into our analysis by calculating a payback period. This is
the time it takes for the benefits of a change to repay its costs. Many companies look
for payback over a specified period - e.g. three years.
◊Change Management
Determine “desired state” and prioritize
Create SMART Goals
Specific Measurable Achievable Realistic Time Bound

Possible Barriers/Possible Solutions
Implement Plan

Calibrate all SMART Goals & Tasks to align according to the Time criteria
Re-measure new “current state” of world – this is a Continuous Loop Process
SMART Tasks are behaviors that will help you accomplish each of your SMART
Goals
◊Gap Analysis
A derivative of Systems Theory to identify
Current state -> Desired state
How big is this gap?
Behaviors required to move from current state to desired state by goal date.
