1. How do you think you can use this journal to get the most out of English 101?
I think that writing a journal will be the best way to practice my writing. Simply because
there really isn’t a lot of pressure with these journals, you know that if you do them you
get the credit so what I plan to do is just sitting down and writing them. The way I see
this helping is it will make me a better regular writer, now when I saw regular I mean just
everyday writing, no essays, nothing that needs to be perfect. Because when writing an
essay, you spend so much time re-writing and going over that by the end of it it’s not your
writing anymore it is more of your peer editors or you trying to make it fit the certain
page lengths, so doing these will help me strengthen my regular writing which is great.
2. Free Write (remember, this means you can write about anything having to do with
you and writing)
During this free write I am going to talk about a show on Hulu that I have been binge
watching. The show is called Blindspot. Now there will be some spoilers in here so if you
haven’t seen the show and want to watch it be careful when you read this. The show
starts out with an FBI team and introduces them and then it cuts to a cop in Time Square
and he spots a bag sitting in the middle of the sidewalk with a note that says call the FBI,
so of course they get the bomb squad out but right as he is about to open the bag a girl
opens it from the inside covered head to toe in tattoos and she has no idea who she is or
how she got there, but when looking at all her tattoos she has a name on her back that
says Kurt Weller FBI, now he is on the FBI team they showed earlier so they ask him if
they know her but he has no clue who she is. They later find out she was injected with
something called ZIP which completely erased her memory, that is all for now. During
the portion of free writes I am going to continue the story as I go. I have chosen to write
this for my free writes because I want to harder my skills on giving a description of
something that has happened. And hopefully get pretty good at that by the end of this
semester.
