Final Reflection
As the semester is ending, it is a mixed emotion feeling. There have been a lot of ups and downs
this semester. Eng 107 was an exciting brainstorming class with an impeccable instructor Mr.
Madhukar and amazing interactive peers. The lectures helped me deeply understand the topic the
audience expects us to write about. The lectures were fully informative. The topics evaluated in
this course helped me develop and consider every aspect possible to make the topic engaging. It
indeed helped me be confident enough to present my point of view. It even made me realize that
even a very minute episode in our life can hold profound meaning. Starting with my first essay, I
tried fitting every experience into a single essay. It was a total joy to relive those moments in my
head and preserve them as an essay that I can always look back at. It made me feel like I was
writing my autobiography. I enjoyed writing down and reminiscing about things that went on in
my life. While writing down the essay, I researched and learned new words, which helped me
improve my vocabulary. I am a very reserved person drowned in my thoughts, and I never
bothered to look beyond and discover what the world offers. I was unaware of the allure that
penning down thoughts holds. Writing essays was not my cup of tea, but I saw myself evolve for
the better. Having been allowed to express my thoughts and experiences in words, I could write
an entirely different side of mine being unveiled. It boosted my confidence and encouraged me to
improve my skills. The peer review that I received from my fellow mates helped me identify the
expectations from me as a writer, and it helped me stay glued to my topic. The instructors
reviews were constructive and professional and helped me identify my drawbacks. Next time I
would organize my lectures and essays properly and submit them on time. The course has also
developed a new hobby inside me: video editing. I am confident that I will make youtube vlogs
in the future as editing videos is fun, and I learned from this class. In a nutshell, this class
quintessentially helped me to ponder over my writing skills. I could quickly transform my
thoughts and experiences into words. Mostly, I didn’t just write to achieve grades; it was relaxing
after a long day. Constructive criticism always helps one to elevate. All the learnings in this class
will surely help me in the long run.
