Communication
Effective communication is vital for success in different aspects of life, such as the job
market, class, and interpersonal relationships. Work emails typically adhere to a formal tone,
focusing on professionalism and clarity, whereas social media posts may be more casual and
personal (Saputra, 2021).
Reflecting on my communication skills, I am confident in clearly explaining complex
concepts essential in academic and professional settings. However, I struggle with writing,
mainly crafting concise and impactful messages. Self-doubt can hinder my writing process,
causing me to second-guess my word choices and structure.
Best Skill and Biggest Challenge
My ability to teach and explain concepts verbally is my top communication skill. When
in class, I can contribute to the discussions and provide clear and articulate contributions.
However, a lack of good writing skills, especially in concisely presenting ideas, is still a big
challenge when it comes to written communication.
In class, I will use my communication skills to engage in group discussions and
presentations actively, ensuring my contributions are clear and valuable. At work, I will leverage
my ability to explain processes and ideas during team meetings or training sessions, facilitating
better understanding and collaboration.
In a bid to correct my weak areas in communication, particularly writing, I intend to set a
fixed writing practice session and ask my colleagues or seniors to review and critique my work.
Also, extensive independent reading will help me improve my vocabulary as well as familiarize
myself with the various forms of writing styles (Saputra, 2021). These actions will assist in
improving my writing skills as well as the confidence I have in my writing skills.

Integrity is the most valued virtue observed in any academic or professional setting,
characterized by honesty and doing the right thing. I once witnessed a colleague falsify reports to
cover up for a mistake. Issues should be addressed with honesty, with responsibility taken to
maintain trust and good ethical standards (Saputra, 2021). Recognizing and improving
communication skills combined with integrity formulates the foundation of success in academic
and professional settings.
