Project Problem
The issue addressed by this study is the need to comprehend the implementation of cloud
computing in K-12, focusing specifically on its impacts on IT professionals at the K-12 level.
Although cloud computing provides some benefits to users, such as flexibility, affordability, and
worldwide accessibility, adopting and using these technologies in minority schools poses
significant challenges and barriers (Khan et al., 2019). One crucial concern is that some schools
have better resources than others, and usually, the ones that serve minorities lack the most and
adopt new technologies like cloud computing backwards (Baker, 2021). The general problem is
caused by the lack of access to advanced technology among many minority K-12 schools; thus,
their opportunities for academic advancement are curtailed (Passow, 2021). This paper examines
the influence of minority schools shifting to cloud computing to reduce the gap and boost student
performance. (González-Martínez et al., 2015; Grover & Nandal, 2024) This research is aimed at
technology integration as the core area where the findings will be used to enhance the equitable
distribution of educational resources and improve learning environments. Cloud computing can
strengthen minority schools' accessibility to digital resources and create more effective and
customizable learning experiences (Almaiah & Al-Khasawneh, 2020; Arpaci, 2017).
The significance of this study lies in the fact that some K12 schools need to utilize cloud
computing and receive the benefits it provides to their classroom. (Fritchen, 2022)
Comprehending the ramifications of cloud computing on educators, IT professionals, and
instructional technology professionals tackles the notable absence of literature about technology
acceptance and its impacts on depressed societies (Mokhtar et al., 2016; Sun, 2019). This study's
results are expected to impact information technology and facilitate the development of learning

environments (Deb & Fuad, 2021). In the end, recognizing these factors is critical to closing the
digital divide gap and making available to all learners the tools needed to excel at schooling.
Gap
The current state is that minority K-12 schools lack access to cloud computing, leading to
educational inequalities and limited academic advancement. This issue emerged based on
differences in resources, infrastructures, and support regarding the integration of technologies in
these schools. These disparities are due to systematic injustice in funding and resource allocation,
which puts minority schools in a position to invest in technological developments, faculty
training, and internet connectivity, thus exacerbating the digital divide. The desired state is to
ensure all K-12 schools, particularly those serving minority communities, have equitable access
to cloud computing technologies (Bonderud, 2021). To mitigate the problem, increased funds
should be devoted to infrastructure, proper IT personnel and school teacher training. Broadly,
district, state, and federal policies should promote justice and fairness in resource allocation. In
addition, local technology partnerships and community organizations will help locate and
provide the resources and knowledge needed. Another consideration is the availability of
connectivity, including devices and internet connection, for the students. These measures go a
long way in eradicating discrimination in learning institutions and improving all learners'
learning quality.
The gap in practice between the current and desired states is stark. Currently, minority K-
12 schools are deprived of cloud computing facilities to provide education equally due to
inadequate resources, infrastructures, and support (Bonderud, 2021). The desired state is equal
opportunities for K -12 schools to utilize cloud computing to better serve students' achievements
without compromising individual learning needs. This gap directly affects educational equality

and prevents students who study at schools with fewer resources to succeed academically.
Everyone, including educators, policymakers, and community leaders, has a vested interest in
this issue because it is essential for the future success of all students. The need is further
compounded by technological advancement that increases the gap between the digital haves and
has yet to be tackled. Immediate action is needed to ensure all students, regardless of their
school's resources, can benefit from cloud computing, promoting equal educational opportunities
and closing the achievement gap.
