1.2 Explanation of Impediment
This impediment exists as usually there are a large number of patients assigned to each physician
who in-turn is unable to remember the history of each individual patient. Therefore, there is a
need for a system to log each patient’s record including their consultation, reports and
prescription. Hospitals require systems for physicians and laboratories to log the details about
each patient’s history. In the absence of such a system, a patient is the only source with all the
information, and if they don’t record or remember their important details, there will be no way to
access the data.
1.3 Overcoming the Impediment
To overcome the impediment, hospitals need to have systems installed in every section where
patient’s data need to be recorded and those systems need to be in sync. Also, there is a need to
standardize the software and hardware used, since this data needs to be shared with other
hospitals and emergency departments. There is a need to have a secure server, where all the
private data to patients are safe.
