The progenitors of the human race had succumbed to the words of satan, and broken God’s law by eating the forbidden fruit of the tree of knowledge. This sin is inherited through all of humanity and causes them to be born in Sin. However, Edwards tells us that we may be able to repent for that sin by accepting Jesus Christ as our savior.
