Mina is forced by Count Dracula to drink his blood, and this forms a special connection between the two of them. She can assist Van Helsing and the men in finding out how Dracula is escaping England. She wishes to accompany them as she believes that she can aid them due to this special connection. Furthermore, she does not wish to become a vampire, and hopes that Van Helsing and the others would be able to kill her before she does so, in case they can’t find Dracula.
