Please work on the following tasks.

(1) What is the mission statement? Why is  it important?

(2)　Read Ch 2 and this File ( IMG_0001.pdf), first.   Compare Dollar General and Family Dollar's mission statements in terms of (a) the nine mission statement components (IMG_0004.pdf) and (b) the nine characteristics of a mission statement on your textbook (IMG_0003.pdf).  What are differences?  How such differences will/may affect/differentiate strategic formulations of both companies?  Think also about fundamental nature of "dollar store" in the USA to correctly understand their mission statements.
