The assignments in Weeks 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6 will help you with this project assignment. Do not just copy & paste the material researched in previous weeks. Prepare a concise document to address each of the following topics. Make sure to incorporate any edits/suggestions from the instructor.

Introduction (Stage 1)

In this paragraph, add information from Week 1 to identify your product, service, or idea and the reasons why you selected it for this project. A few suggestions: seize the opportunity – determine if the project is worthwhile; do your initial research to find if there is a need for your product, service, or idea.

Conducting Opportunity Analysis

This section will continue Stage 1, due in Week 2. You will decide on a business model design. One model to consider is the Five Component Model; the other is The Business Model Canvas, designed by Alexander Osterwalder, which has nine key topics to address when designing your own model. Entrepreneurs need to conduct marketing research to start their venture and understand their target markets in terms of size, competition, and access. There are two principal reasons that entrepreneurs tackle marketing research. Initially, to identify the need and opportunity for the venture, and second, to understand marketing and customer issues related to the product or service.

Developing the Plan and Setting up the Company (Stage 2)

This section will include the information on the business plan. You completed this information in Week 3 and in week 5. Include your actual business plan information as an Appendix. You can find several examples of business plans on the internet, as well as templates to develop your own plan. No matter if you decide to start from scratch or use the templates available, you will find the same components in any plan: the executive summary, followed by the details of the plan, separated into sections on the company and product/service; a market analysis; an operating plan, organizational structure, the management team, a financial plan, and the amount needed for the startup, with terms of use outlined.

Acquiring Financial Partners/Sources of Funding (Stage 3)

This section is a continuation of the information you researched and learned in Week 5 to complete the questions concerning your organizational structure, funding sources, legal requirements, and ethical considerations.

Determining the Resources Required and Implementing the Plan (Stage 4)

This section will include the information researched to complete the assignment due in Week 6. Consider how you will manage your business - will you expect to always be in control, or will you be willing to share control with others, especially if that helps the company grow and make all the shareholders wealthier?

Scaling and Harvesting the Venture (Stage 5)

This section will include the information researched to complete the exit strategy written in week 7.

Conclusion

Wrap up the major points about your company.
