 Each student will design and write up an original research proposal following a literature search. The research proposal will not actually be carried out but will only be proposed. The research proposal permits the students to demonstrate their ability to search and critically evaluate the literature, and properly design an experiment, without the attendant ethical concerns that would arise if a number of naïve researchers actually attempted to carry out these projects.
