Writing Assignment: Civil Rights

 Write a 400-600 word report using Chicago style.  I will send you a style guide. Do not use Wikipedia or Facebook as sources. You will need a minimum of 3 sources. Do not use sources meant for children. 

Source Requirements:
- One General Historical Website (biography.com, history.com, etc)

- One Modern News Outlet (New York Times, BBC, Smithsonian, National Geographic, etc)

- One additional source for a total of at least THREE sources.

- Check your sources with me before you start on your paper. Do not assume that your sources are good! Check with me first! If you need help deciding on sources, ask me for help.

Choose one event, person, or topic concerning the American Civil Rights movement. There are many options here, so be creative. The options are endless. The best way to choose a topic is to pick something that interests you. If you find the topic interesting, then it will be a better paper.

Give some background on the topic and Civil Rights and explain the importance or contribution of your topic.  This paper will be due DECEMBER 2, 2020

Papers should be written in the Chicago style of writing.  You can go to the Writing Center for instruction. History papers are written in Chicago style, therefore the papers MUST be in Chicago style.

IMPORTANT - All papers should be double-spaced using 12 point, Times New Roman font. The assignment is worth 100 total points.
